Kenya

(populated galleries in red, the rest coming soon)

  • Nairobi and its National Park (Safaris with a city view)

  • Samburu County, including the amazing sights to see in Sarara Lodge, as well as the incredible work being done by the team at Samburu Women’s Trust, and a bonus essay by our very own eldest child, Princess Five-Star, on Reteti Elephant Sanctuary.

  • Il Ngwesi, home of the Laikipia Maasai, whom we almost ran away to join forever.

  • More safaris along the way (Ol Pejeta, Lewa and other conservancies I’d never heard of, but will never forget)

  • Njoro and the Rift Valley area, off the safari track but well worth the detour.

  • The Maasai Mara, in all its glory, or is that gory? (trigger warning to all the vegans out there)

  • Lamu, a lovely island archipelago off the northeastern coast, an ancient city where you can see the crossroads of civilizations in the faces of the locals—and the visitors.

  • More animal photos, by species, ranked in scientific order of awesomeness: big cats (leopards, lions and cheetah), ellies, giraffes, warthogs, zebra, various antelopes, buffalo, crocs, and—dead last—hippos. Oh—and don’t forget the birds and flowers.

And last but not least, a video of our time on safari. Turn up the volume to 11.
